Buderim Concert Band advertises for new Musical Director |

 | | | The Buderim Concert Band Musical Director will have responsibility for:
- conducting the weekly rehearsals, Mondays, Sienna School, Sippy Downs, 7-9pm
- attending monthly committee meetings
- procuring new music for the band, as required from time to time
- liaising with the Assistant Musical Director and committee
There will be an honorarium for the successful applicant. There will be a 3-month probation period, after which the position will be finalised. Candidates for the role are invited to send their applications, with CV and references, by email to the band secretary at:

Inez - Thanks for the memories |

Buderim Concert Band members gathered at James' rural retreat to thank Inez for her wonderful contribution to the Band over the last four years. Inez is stepping down from her post as Musical Director to give herself more time for her Doctoral studies. We had speeches, gifts, laughs, thanks, hugs. See the photos here.

| | Buderim Concert Band remembered Anzac Day and celebrated Buderim's 150th Birthday at the Buderim War Memorial Hall on Sunday 22nd April 2pm. We had an enthusiastic crowd for BCB band music, the Buderim Mountain State School choir, and Genevieve & Bridget O'Brien. See photos here. |

Anzac Day 2012: When the second gig of the day starts at 7:30 a.m. |

 | | Buderim Concert Band trombone player, Myron, commented wryly: 'It's a hard life when your second gig of the day starts at 7:30 a.m.'
| Anzac Day for the Band kicked off soon after 4:00 a.m. with a moving Dawn Service at the Maroochydore Cenotaph in Cottontree Park. Afterwards Band members enjoyed a sustaining breakfast at the Maroochy RSL Club (thank you Maroochy RSL), before driving to Buderim. There the Band played Australian music, followed by march music for the marchers stepping off from the Woolworths carpark. Members of the Band then scattered. Some packed the BCB trailer to return our equipment to our rehearsal room; but others hurried to other venues to participate in their third gig of the day playing with other Coast bands. A contingent of six joined the Maroochydore High School Band at the 9:00 a.m. service at Cottontree Park. The BCB Anzac playouts were the last public performances with Inez Durrer as BCB Musical Director. Inez has forged strong bonds with organisors of both Maroochydore and Buderim Anzac ceremonies over the last four years. Sausage sizzle raises money for new band uniform |

| | Buderim Concert Band thanks Bunnings Caloundra for supporting us with our sausage sizzle fundraiser last Saturday - this time to subsidise new performance shirts for Band members.
| Band members and partners joined the merry group of sizzlers; the flute section provided live entertainment for the Bunnings customers; and the new Band shirts looked great on the day. See photos here.
